FLAMINGO

Intro:

This game is based on the basketball game of HORSE, but adds two, six-sided dice. The game begins with the players, assigning shot types to the six numbers on one of the dice (Three-Pointer, Layup, Dunk, Between the Legs, etc.). Then, the players assign the other die to designate six spots on the court. The player whose turn is first watches as the other members of the game roll the dice. Whatever numbers they land on determine the type of shot, as well as the location the shot must be taken from by the first player. If the first player makes the shot, the others have to try to make the same shot, just like in traditional Horse. If the first player misses the shot however, the dice are rolled again, and the second player attempts a new shot. If Every player makes the first player’s shot, the dice are rolled again and it remains the first player’s turn. As soon as one player misses however, it is the next player’s turn, and the dice are rolled once again. Any time a player misses a shot, except if it is the initial shot of the turn, they receive one letter. The player who spells “FLAMINGO” last, is the winner of the game. This game requires at least 2 players, but more is encouraged.

Rules:

  1. Players, on any basketball court, take two dice and designate one for shot-type, and the other for court location.
  2. After deciding an order the players will play in, the first player takes a basketball and watches as the other players roll the dice.
  3. Whatever numbers are rolled, are the shot type and location the first shooter must attempt.
  4. If the first shooter makes the shot, in order, the other players attempt the same shot.
  5. If a player misses, the dice are rolled again, and it is the next player’s turn
  6. If the first shot of a turn is missed, no letter is taken, but the dice are rolled again, and it is the next player’s turn.
  7. If any player misses a shot during a point they did not start, they receive a letter
  8. When all but one player have spelled “FLAMINGO” with their misses, the last player standing wins.

Extras (For added fun):

  1. If the players roll a double, the shooter automatically takes a letter and their turn is skipped.
  2. If the players roll snake eyes (two ones) then the shooter gets to take whatever kind of shot they wish.
